Set Up Xiaomi Wifi Repeater Using Mi Home App

Set up the Xiaomi WiFi Repeater close to your router first, then move it to a location where it can still receive a reliable router signal. Menu names, supported bands, and indicator behavior can vary by model and app version.

Check the Connection

Open the repeater page in Mi Home / Xiaomi Home and check the main status information available for your model:

• Repeater shows online or connected.
• Signal quality is not shown as weak.
• Connected devices may appear in the client list when the model and app support it.

If your phone stays connected to the main router instead of the repeater, toggle Wi-Fi off and on, move closer to the repeater, and reconnect. If naming controls are available, a distinct repeater network name can make the connection easier to identify.
